During the game you can get access to the tabs that will let you see your inventory. If you click on the area that doesn't contain any objects several times you will be penalized and the screen will go dark for a few seconds. If you can't find an item you can use the Clue button. After you've pushed it you need to wait until it reloads before you can use it again. But don't push it too often as you have a limited amount of clues.
